You can manage your notifications at any time from your device settings, not within the app itself.  Instructions for managing notifications may differ, depending on your device.

If you're receiving notifications regarding new matches or chats, but there don't seem to be any new ones, it could be that this member deleted/unmatched your profile or their account.

Alternatively, try logging out of the app, and then logging back in again with your Facebook credentials.
